Remember the “Most Boring Ad Ever” we featured a few weeks ago? Here’s a refresher. Naturally, Big Tobacco didn’t want to make a good ad, because they want people to keep smoking.
Well, here’s the reverse side of the coin — a health and safety organization actually urging its audience to stop smoking. It’s an ad from Ireland that’s so well made, the campaign is now being promoted in the States.
As Gloria Gaynor’s “I Will Survive” plays in the background, we see people from all walks of life singing along as they triumphantly throw their cigarettes away. The ad closes with a fun fact: that there are now more quitters than smokers in Ireland.
