Some Podcasts That Have Nothing to Do with Marketing

Even though we listen to about 129,324 marketing podcasts each day (hey, it’s hard work trying to find a good one for the Daily Carnage), we actually listen to other, non-marketing podcasts too.

Since a lot of you will likely be traveling over the next few days, we thought you’d enjoy some different podcasts, too.

Here are some of our non-marketing favs:

  1. How I Built This – We’ve dropped a few episodes of this one into the Daily because it is just so good. Each episode interviews innovators, entrepreneurs, and idealists and the stories behind the movements they created. Our favorite episode: Whitney Wolfe from Bumble. She’s our people.
  2. The Way I Heard It with Mike Rowe – If Mike’s voice isn’t enough to do it for you, Mike tells a true story in about ten minutes—but there’s always a wild plot twist at the end. Some of the stories are about famous people you love, politicians you don’t, and even people you’ve never heard of. Our favorite episode? All of them.
  3. Radiolab is, as they put it, “ a show about curiosity. Where sound illuminates ideas, and the boundaries blur between science, philosophy, and human experience.” Hard to pick a fav, but we think “Where the Sun Don’t Shine” is one of the most beautiful stories ever told via podcast. And maybe ever.
  4. Stuff You Should Know is, well, about stuff you should know! From crayons to exorcisms to mushrooms to the sun, there is no shortage of variety of knowledge nuggets here.
