The Conversation
Here’s what’s hot in our Facebook community this week:
“For those of you running early Black Friday deals, how are your sales going? We’re planning to hold back our big sale until BFCM weekend but my higher-ups just asked why weren’t considering pushing sooner.”
Our community of experts responded:
- “We were planning to launch Nov 19 and spontaneously decided to go live yesterday and seeing good early results (hospitality industry) — curious if we’ll lose steam though.”
- “I would go live now. This year Q1, Q3 and now Q4 is kind of a wash. Black Friday is now open-ended and earlier but Cyber Monday is the new Black Friday.”
- “I’m seeing more residential holiday decorating happening early this year. Probably opportunity for early BFCM promos—just TBD if it’s sustainable through the end of the quarter.”
- “Push it early so your competitors who ARE, aren’t stealing your market share. Also, if you’re going to do deeper deals for BF, you can take people out of the market and make better margins for the month.”
- “It’s a shorter window this year. Go for earlier but be strategic. I’ve gotten some things spaced out so we have deals that will push out every week to stay fresh.”
