What We Learned
Monday*: Conversion rates are one of the many metrics marketers look at to show you the percentage of visitors to your site who do what you want them to do (i.e. convert to a customer). WatchThemLive shared how to calculate conversion rates and some types of CVRs. The basic formula is:
(Number of Conversions ÷ Total Visitors) x 100 = Conversion Rate
Tuesday**: Now on to the Click-Throught Rate! Twilio Send Grid’s blog post was about calculating and improving your email CTR. That formula is:
(Number of Recipients Who Clicked ÷ Number of Delivered Emails) x 100 = CTR
Wednesday: Metrics change from brand to brand as far as what is most important to them. Sprout’s 2022 Year in Social Report went over the metrics to be paying attention to as well industry-specific social media highlights.
Thursday: We covered strategies you’ve definitely heard of but maybe you haven’t connected the dots on ways you can leverage them for improving your brand’s conversion. VWO gave actionable steps for influencing your conversions by improving multiple parts of your website and landing pages.
A Stat Recap from this week’s sources:
*The industry-wide conversion rate is around 3.75%.
*A “good” conversion rate for lead generation is around 12%.
**A strong CTR all depends on your industry and content, but you wanna shoot for 2-3%.
**55% of just want to get a few lines from senders.
**85% of recipients use smartphones for email.
