Shoe Dog

Need some inspo? Head over to Amazon and get “Shoe Dog,” the story of Nike. This book is everything it’s cracked up to be and more. It shows the messy path of entrepreneurship, the dumb luck it takes (sometimes), and the perseverance it takes to push through the dark times.

Shoe Dog is loaded with insights and lessons on how to live your brand. We highly recommend. Just do it!

Fast Screencasts

Fast Screencasts

Sometimes you gotta share your screen. Whether it’s a quick tutorial, an IT issue, you name it.

Say hello to Recordit; a free screencast recording app. The best part about it…no editing skills are required. Just download it, open and click record.

What we like: The free version is plenty sufficient. As soon as you stop recording, it spits out a link. We ran a test recording. Check it out here.

What we don’t like: It might take a couple minutes to export the recording based on the length of the video. Be patient.

Google Data Studio

Google Data Studio

Now that you’re diving deep into those KPIs, how about some branded reports with data visualizations to share with your team and clients? Enter Google Data Studio.

If you’re using it already 👊🏽, if not we highly recommend it.

What we like: It allows you to combine multiple data sources (Facebook and Google Analytics) in one report. Basically, any data that is in a Google Sheet can be combined. There are hundreds of templates to choose from.

What we don’t like: It’s super robust, which is great, but there’s definitely a learning curve. We recommend watching some YouTube tutorials.

If you don’t wanna do any of this, hit us up for your analytics strategy. We have a thing for data.

If You Do This, Do That

If You Do This, Do That

Today’s tool is next level. It’s called IFTTT (If This Then That). IFTTT is a free platform that helps you do more with all your apps and devices. For example, say you’re listening to some jams on YouTube and you want to save them to a Spotify playlist.

Just IFTTT it. We’re not sure IFTTT’ing is a thing, but we’re gonna roll with it. The platform connects to plenty of apps and devices, so you should be set for a long time.

What we like: It’s free and awesome.

What we don’t like: It’s a tad overwhelming to start, but we’re getting the hang of it.

What we like: It’s relatively simple to come up with a top-line budget figure.

What we don’t like: So far, so good.

The Keywords Everywhere extension is a free SEO keyword research tool that shows you useful google keyword search volume and cost per click data on multiple websites.

What we like: the filters don’t look fake and there are a ton of features (crop, exposure, grain, etc.) The free version is enough to get you up and running.

What we don’t like: if you’re working with super large jpeg files, it may crash.

Capitalize My Title

Capitalize My Title

To capitalize or not to capitalize…that is the question.

‘Capitalize My Title’ does the guessing for you. Head over to their site and drop your title in. You’ll have 4 title capitalization styles to choose from: Chicago, APA, MLA, and AP.

What we like: It’s free and about as simple as a tool can be.

What we don’t like: A Grammarly integration would be 🔥
