I’ve always been a sucker for movies, books, and RPGs that involve building a team of multifaceted strengths, talents, (and weaknesses) to overcome the upcoming battle against the seemingly impossible. The Fellowship of the Ring, Watership Down, The Magnificent Seven–you get my point.
Building and maintaining our team is the most rewarding aspect of my role. And if you care about your team as you should, it can also be the most painstaking aspect. One day, I’m a cheerleader, the next, a therapist.
I’ve come to find that augmenting the Carney team requires individuals with at least three traits:
1.) Work ethic – They love a challenge and will consistently meet and exceed expectations. They love what they do. (I’m not talking about working 60+ hours a week.)
2.) Intelligence – They will wield multiple skills to solve any problem. They’ll figure it out.
3.) Benevolence – They will unselfishly contribute to the whole. They’ll mentor, encourage, and boost morale.
Depending on the role, there will be other requirements, but these three traits are the foundation for any hire at Carney.
