In 2018, it seemed literally everyone was engaging with video content in some way. But as 2019 approaches (Did 2018 even happen???) what are the best platforms to be producing video content for? There’s no one answer, but LinkedIn video seems to be slayin’ the game.

In a single year, there were more than 300 million video impressions on LinkedIn. Say whaaa?! Plus, the data shows videos on the platform are much more likely to start a convo amongst users.

1) Perfect The Technicalities.

Pause. Don’t hit the “record” button just yet! There are some things you have to do first, like:

  • Make sure your lighting is on point. In other words, either find some fire natural lighting, or set up your recording spot with artificial lights.
  • It’s all about the body language. (Yes, people really pay attention to this stuff.) Focus on being cool, calm, and collected without overthinking what you’re doing. (That sounds easy, right?)

2) Find your hook.

If you don’t make it clear why people should watch your video in the first two seconds, they’ll drop off at a rapid rate. Make sure you have a “hook” to keep viewers engaged with your video for more than 10 seconds. This can be a visually appealing clip or even an intro to what you’ll be discussing.
