McDonald’s is hoping to win in the afternoon-pick-me-up category with CosMc’s, a spin-off restaurant with a focus on customizable and complex drinks, plus some familiar snacks.

The brand is testing the yearlong pilot concept in three markets in the new year, with the first already open in Illinois.
