What We Learned
Monday: AdWeek had a discussion about brands addressing social issues. Values are something many consumers consider when choosing a brand. But should brands get involved directly if they should get involved at all? The three main tips were:
- Start with leadership and listen to your people
- Keep up with culture and changes as often as possible
- Be prepared to stumble and have difficult conversations
Tuesday: Startups (and even some established companies) can struggle to decide on their marketing hires. Now, we’ve all seen it: the ridiculously overwhelmed marketing roles for ONE person. Yes, startups are going to need all the marketing help they can get, but TechCrunch can help focus your hiring efforts with 5 questions to consider first.
Wednesday: We’re not saying you gotta hop on every Tik Tok challenge, but if you aren’t paying attention, you could be missing out on amazing opportunities. Business 2 Community gave us Trends are Your Friends: Video Responses to Social Media Trends for tips on taking advantage of trends.
Thursday: If you aren’t tracking these KPI’s are you even marketing? There are several other KPIs you should track to identify which campaigns and tactics have the greatest impact. MediaTool gave a list of the top 10 to track (if you aren’t already).

It's Piña Colada Seazon
Ingredients
- 2 1/2 oz. rum
- 3 oz. pineapple juice
- 1 oz. coconut cream
- ice, ice, baby
Steps
- Combine rum with pineapple juice (you can sub in 3 ounces crushed or whole pineapple) and coconut cream in a blender.
- Blend on high with a cup or so of crushed ice, or 5 to 6 ice cubes.
- Pour into a tall glass. Garnish with whatever you’ve got. Cherry. Pineapple. Fruit. Leaves. Silly Straw.
