The Trick to Repurposing Content
There’s a difference between repurposing content and simply posting the exact same thing everywhere.
Start with one core idea and one core asset, then make a handful of small adjustments so it feels native to each platform. You don’t need to create four completely different posts. You just need to stop treating Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and Pinterest like they’re the same place.
The basic framework is surprisingly simple:
- Change the hook. TikTok and Reels need an immediate visual or spoken hook. Pinterest needs a searchable, benefit-driven headline. Facebook can lean more conversational.
- Change the format. A vertical video might work beautifully on TikTok and Instagram, but Pinterest has its own preferred proportions, while Facebook may call for a different crop.
- Add something platform-native. Think trending audio on TikTok, a carousel with additional context on Instagram, a link or community angle on Facebook, or keyword-rich descriptions on Pinterest.
- Adjust the caption. The same message can be short and punchy on TikTok, more searchable on Instagram, keyword-focused on Pinterest, and conversational on Facebook.
Your core idea, main asset, and CTA can remain consistent. The goal isn’t to reinvent your message four times; it’s to translate the same message into four different social languages.
The pressure to maintain a presence across every platform can turn social media into a content-production treadmill. But if one strong idea can become four native-feeling posts with a few intentional edits, suddenly your content calendar becomes much more manageable.
Q for You
Come clean... Are you often posting the same asset across Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, etc?

Don’t miss the latest episode of The Daily Carnage Show to find out why brands are spending big to turn TikTok scrollers into soap opera addicts.
Microdramas — short, episodic video series built around characters, cliffhangers, romance, plot twists and ongoing stories — are becoming a serious marketing format. And brands like Crocs, JCPenney, Bilt, P&G and Dr Pepper are already experimenting with them.
But there’s a big question: do microdramas actually drive business results, or are brands just buying views?
