What We Learned

Monday: MrBeast, popular YouTuber and entrepreneur, boasts some impressive email marketing stats (200k subs, 2 million clicks, 10 average clicks per recipient). So… what’s this guy putting in his “Feastables” emails anyway? And how can you replicate it?

Tuesday: Ariyh uses peer-reviewed research to answer the question, “How should we improve our demo booking form or page to increase the conversion rate?”

Wednesday: Copy that caters to the C-suite rather than your customer-base undermines all of your marketing efforts. Immersed in their own expertise, internal teams begin to think and talk in ways that just don’t connect with an external audience. Here’s how to fix it.

Thursday: As large language models transform the search experience, marketers will need to measure and track how AI perceives a brand and compares it to competitors, as well as why and how it suggests products and services to customers. Here’s how to measure share of model.

The Conversation

Robert recommended an episode of the Decoder Ring podcast called “The Gen X Soda That Was Just ‘OK’. “Super fascinating dive into building a brand, Wieden-Kennedy being a national treasure, and pre-social virality.”

Moira asked, “There are plenty of alternate phrases for the Big Game or the Superb Owl, but what are your favorite alternate phases for the Olympics?”

Hannah asked, “Does anybody have suggestions for a quality class, course, or resource to develop skillsets around brand strategy/brand building?”

Mary asked, “Are account audience demographics for X/Twitter just no longer available at all via the native platform, or is it now hidden behind Premium?”

Here’s what we learned about The Daily Carnage community this week:

  • Just 15% of marketers identify as proficient users of Figma, but over half of marketers don’t use the leading collaborative design tool at all.
  • 21% of marketers plan to move forward with TikTok ad spend despite the possibility of a U.S. ban. 8.5% of marketers will scale back, while 5% are pulling out altogether.
  • Only 8% of marketers have begun measuring share of model, or AI’s perception of brands in relation to competitors. A quarter of marketers report using AI to gauge brand sentiment informally.
  • 20% of marketers report experiencing site ranking volatility as a result of Google’s March 2024 core update.

Did Ya Know?

Answer: Uncle O’Grimacey.

Grimace’s uncle was introduced in 1975 as the sacred keeper of the Shamrock Shake. He wears a green cob hat and vest and carries a shillelagh, in case there was any question about his nationality. Why was he silenced?
