Skillshop by Google

Hey folks, Gloria here. Back when I was learning the ins and outs of Google advertising one of the first things I did was get certified.

Listen, there are gurus and an explosive amount of tutorials all sharing the absolute best way to run campaigns on Google. And that was overwhelming.

I turned to Google’s free course because 1 – it was free, and 2 – it’s Google teaching me how to utilize their own platform. That’s like learning business from Warren Buffet himself.

If you wanna get into Google ads, I suggest learning the basics from the source.

ProofHub

topic: collaboration

Think about your typical day. How much of it is wasted on sending emails or having meetings to get a project approved? That back and forth dance takes up the majority of a day.

Introducing today’s nifty tool, ProofHub. This tool offers control, a crack-down schedule, workflow flexibility, and more importantly, instant communication.

Give it a whirl.

Google Ad Grants

topic: digital advertising

Today’s tool is for our non-profit friends! If you’re a non-profit with limited to no budget for online advertising or search engine optimization, then Google Ad Grants could be your go-to.

Qualified GAG accounts come with $10K monthly cap at no extra cost. With it, non-profits can create keyword, text-based ads. Click below to learn how it works and if you’re eligible.

“Say it with Video”

Loom has the ability to capture your screen, webcam, and microphone so you can seamlessly create quality videos. After checking out several reviews, we gotta say, we pretty enthused to give this tool a go.

It’s recommended to use for quick tutorials, how-to’s, reviews, customer support, management meeting times, and more.

MixKit

Finding quality, promo videos and illustrations can get pretty frustrating. There’s a ton of sites that offer free photography, but we find ourselves mining through pages and pages of stock images.

On top of that, you have to find one that’s free but isn’t so stock-y that it turns your audience off. What’s a marketer to do?

We’re liking MixKit, tho. This free resource has a collection of HD quality videos and illustrations.  Give it a go next time you need free content.

Make a List

Where are my list-makers? I make lists for myself relentlessly because I’m a very task-centered kinda gal. Pros/cons, to-dos, grocery, you name it; I’ll make a list for it.

To help my fellow list-makers, I decided to share the listing tools I’ve used in the past and what I do now.

First, classic pen and paper. When my work is on the computer 24/7 sometimes a good ol’ colored sticky note is my best friend. But I’ve upgraded to using a Moleskine Notebook.

When it comes to digital tools, I use Trello to keep my work-related tasks organized, and I have the EverNote app on my phone for everyday use.

Answer the Public

topic: visual keyword research

Today’s tool is called Answer the Public. After playing around with it for a bit, we gotta say, this tool is pretty dang cool. It’s biggest advantage is the visual element.

All you do is enter a keyword and out pops a plethora of content ideas. Keyword research tools like this one is a big help when creating relevant content. And we all know how powerful relevant content can be.
