Elbow Grease 💪
How to clean your lists.
The savvy marketer's hub for industry news, insights, resources, and culture.
Here’s the thing. When you attach a link from your landing page or site, make sure it’s trackable. Because marketing without data is….. well, wrong.
When it comes to organic social we love using Bitly. This link-shortener and management platform is trying to educate the world about how links drive business results!
Y’all, we’re messin’ inside Facebook on the daily. More often than not, the paid side makes us want to chuck our computers out the window. All of em. But, there is one element that we find useful.
Facebook’s Ad Library is a great tool. It’s a searchable collection of all ads currently running through Facebook or Instagram. It’s your place for ad inspiration or to keep an eye on competitors.
Obviously, we’d never suggest stealing anyone else’s work. Ads Library gives you the opportunity to better understand your industry, check-in on the language or creative that’s being used, and grab an edge on your competitors, of course.
On a regular basis, we got about 50 tabs up on our browser at once. You know how it starts. Beginning the day with email, several of which, demand you open new tabs to check reports or project statuses. Then ya gotta check social media. When you finally start grinding out a project, it takes about 10 tabs to get all the materials together. And good grief, if you have to find a stock photo…
Yinz get our point. Your browser quickly snowballs into a hot mess before lunch. To maintain that madness we fully utilize two things: Bookmarks and Extensions.
Our bookmarks are filled with tools we use daily like Trello, Google Analytics, Pixlr, Bitly, Canva, FB Creator Studio, TweetDeck and more. And we’re all about Google Chrome Extensions too. We talked about Elegantt above but we also have Grammarly, FontNinja, and ColorZilla to name a few.
These easy-access tools give us peace of mind when clicking the little x and clean off our workspace. Our tool tip today: look to see which Extension and Bookmarks can make your work more efficient.
What if we said you could play a game and work at the same time? Y’all we can spend hours playing with CoSchedule’s Headline Analyzer.
When we got a blog, video, or anything that is headline-worthy, we run it through the analyzer. Think about it. If our subject line doesn’t sound appealing, do you open the email? If a title doesn’t seem helpful from Google search, will you click on it? No, ya wouldn’t.
With Coschedule’s Headline Analyzer you get top of the line titles, which lead to more people clicking on your stuff. And that’s a game we wanna win!
Dev Tools is the real deal, friends. It’s built directly into Google Chrome giving you seamless access to creating a better website in no time.
Our dev guy will continue sharing the goods on Dev Tools. But in case you want to get a head start and explore on your own, we’ll leave it here for ya.
One super tool that our UX/UI designer keeps on deck at all times is Miro. She says, “its a digital whiteboarding platform that helps me have a large digital space to be creative on the fly”

When there is a larger group trying to get together for an online meetup or even a dinner with friends, there can be a lot of personal and professional limitations due to scheduling conflicts.
Doodle is a great tool to organize a time for a larger group to connect online or meet in person.
Users can select when they are available from a handful of days offered by the organizer. This eliminates the back and forth of email and reveals the best time for everyone. Plus, it’s super easy to read the chart.
Y’all, us non-photoshop users here love Pixlr. It’s a free graphic design software. We use it every day for the Daily Carnage.
Anything you can expect to do with any photo editor, you can do with Pixlr from cropping and resizing to removing red-eye and whitening teeth. Plus, it offers two million combinations of free filters, overlays, and borders.
