This is Your Lyft Driver

We’re outside…

Be in the Know

  • 2019 has been a rough year for the media business with BuzzFeed and Verizon Media Group making major cuts. Next on the list is Vice Media. Vice just announced they’ll be cutting 250 jobs.
  • Well played Burger King! Last week, Burger King liked a bunch of influencer tweets from 2010. It got people talking. Check out the whopper-ish case study here.

Do You Have Any of These Skills?

We’re deviating slightly here from our normal tactic section, but we think this will be valuable for ya. LinkedIn released the most in-demand skills for 2019.

Their research was based on hard and soft skills. Hard skills include things that can be measured, such as, writing, math, typing, reading, etc. Soft skills are all about the right side of the brain and are harder to quantify. Things like getting along with others, communication skills, and listening.

Drum roll please…

The most in-demand hard skills:

  1. Cloud Computing
  2. Artificial Intelligence
  3. Analytical Reasoning
  4. People Management
  5. UX Design
  6. Mobile Application Development
  7. Video Production
  8. Sales Leadership
  9. Translation
  10. Audio Production

……..

18. Digital marketing…what the heck LinkedIn? (see the whole list here)

No need to fret here. Hard skills tend to always lead with more technical know how. With social media marketing and digital marketing making the list, it’s clear that companies are looking for new ways to stand out.

It’s all about having a solid combination of hard and soft skills though. “57% of leaders say soft skills are more important than hard skills.” 🔥

The most in-demand soft skills:

  1. Creativity
  2. Persuasion
  3. Collaboration
  4. Adaptability
  5. Time Management

How are your skills?

If You Do This, Do That

Today’s tool is next level. It’s called IFTTT (If This Then That). IFTTT is a free platform that helps you do more with all your apps and devices. For example, say you’re listening to some jams on YouTube and you want to save them to a Spotify playlist.

Just IFTTT it. We’re not sure IFTTT’ing is a thing, but we’re gonna roll with it. The platform connects to plenty of apps and devices, so you should be set for a long time.

What we like: It’s free and awesome.

What we don’t like: It’s a tad overwhelming to start, but we’re getting the hang of it.

We’re Here For You

It’d only be fitting to feature a Super Bowl commercial for today’s watch. We were feeling the T-Mobile ad spots, in particular, the Lyft reference. T-Mobile is giving away some serious swag on Tuesday’s; Taco Bell and Lyft.

Doritos Locos Tacos anyone?

Ads from the Past

Something smells a little fudgy with this ad. Betty Crocker 1974. Why aren’t they eating the cake? Why are they all smiling like that? We want answers Betty!
