Trust Is Part of the Treatment
Healthcare consumers are doing more research before making decisions. They’re comparing providers, investigating treatments, exploring health technologies, and looking for credible information long before booking an appointment or making a purchase.
And trust has a measurable impact. According to Deloitte research cited by Carney, consumers are more than twice as likely to try new healthcare products and services when trust is high.
For healthcare, health tech, and wellness marketers, credibility needs to show up throughout the customer journey, from the first search to the experience that follows.
Here’s where to focus:
- Make your claims easy to verify. Support product benefits with credible evidence, explain research accurately, and avoid promising outcomes that the data doesn’t support.
- Educate before asking for a conversion. Create content that helps people understand their options, evaluate unfamiliar technologies, and prepare informed questions for healthcare professionals.
- Speak to different decision-makers. Patients, clinicians, administrators, and procurement teams have different priorities. Adapt the depth, terminology, and benefits of your messaging accordingly.
- Make the digital experience trustworthy. Clear pricing, accessible information, intuitive navigation, and straightforward appointment or inquiry processes help your experience match your promises.
- Connect your marketing efforts. Align educational content, paid campaigns, product messaging, and landing pages so people encounter consistent information throughout their research.
- Measure what you realistically can. Direct-to-consumer brands may track purchases and repeat usage, while companies dealing with prescriptions, insurance, and provider referrals may need to rely on qualified inquiries, demo requests, and other indicators of progress.
Trust isn’t established by adding a few testimonials or credentials to a landing page. It’s built through accurate information, clear communication, and experiences that help people make confident decisions.

True CATectives
Cats are notoriously good at disappearing. So Whiskas decided to put them to work finding other missing cats.
In Kazakhstan, the brand recruited neighborhood cats as tiny detectives, equipped them with miniature cameras, and sent them exploring places humans couldn’t easily reach.
AI then analyzed the footage, comparing any spotted cats against a database of missing pets. The whole operation supported Whiskas’ crowdsourced search platform, where people can upload photos of cats they’ve seen on the streets.
Finally, a job where wandering around all day and ignoring everyone counts as being productive.
