Stop Chasing Your Quality Score
Seeing a 4/10 Quality Score in Google Ads can make you want to fix the number immediately.
But that’s not really the job.
Quality Score is a diagnostic, not a metric you should blindly optimize. The score reflects three areas: expected CTR, ad relevance, and landing page experience. The useful part is figuring out which one is dragging you down—and fixing that underlying problem.
Here are three places to look:
- Expected CTR: Make your ads more compelling with clearer offers, stronger messaging, differentiation, and social proof.
- Ad relevance: If your ad group contains keywords with different intents, split it into tighter themes so your ads can actually match the searches.
- Landing page experience: Make sure the landing page delivers on the promise made in the ad, with strong message match, speed, mobile usability, and trust signals.
- Give changes time. Different components update at different speeds, so don’t expect every optimization to show up immediately.
- Watch performance, not just the score. Quality Score is a useful diagnostic, but conversions, CPC, and overall account performance should guide your decisions.
A higher score can be a nice side effect. It shouldn’t be the goal.

Q for You
Be honest: How often do you check Quality Score?
Paritok
Paritok is a compression gateway for AI coding agents that reduces the amount of context they need to send with each request.
It filters and compresses tool schemas, file reads, outputs, and older conversation history before passing them to the model. The integration is lightweight—you can add it between your agent and the model with a single environment variable.
What makes it interesting is that the compression is non-destructive. When an agent needs the original content, it can request the exact bytes without spending another model turn, helping longer coding sessions use less context and lower input-token costs.
Ep #2.14: Google Image Search is… Pinterest?
Google is making the biggest change to Image Search since it was created 25 years ago:
- The homepage is being redesigned into a personalized, Pinterest-like feed.
- AI can now generate images directly inside Search.
- The interface itself is getting a major refresh.
And together, these updates signal a substantial shift from Google Image Search as simple visual retrieval tool into a place for discovery.
How will this affect image SEO for marketers, brands, and publishers?
