Analytics Tools Every SEO Should Know

Ranking on Google is a good start, but it doesn’t tell you everything about your website’s performance. Technical issues, slow pages, confusing user experiences, and low-quality traffic can all affect your results.

These seven tools help you look beyond rankings and understand what’s happening across your website, audience, and customer journey.

  • Siteliner: Find duplicate content, broken links, and other website issues that may need attention. Use it when auditing your site or cleaning up older content.
  • Yottaa Insights: Investigate site speed and Core Web Vitals. It can help identify performance problems across pages, devices, and third-party scripts.
  • Inspectlet: Use heatmaps and session recordings to see how visitors interact with your pages, spot confusing elements, and investigate why users abandon forms.
  • Woopra: Analyze customer journeys across touchpoints to understand how visitors return, engage with content, and move toward conversion.
  • Mixpanel: Track funnels, cohorts, and retention to understand what users do after signing up — and which acquisition sources bring people who stick around.
  • Followerwonk: Research audiences on X, compare accounts, and explore audience overlap to inform competitor research and content planning.
  • SharedCount: Analyze social engagement around URLs to see which articles and pages are getting shared and generating reactions.

You don’t need every tool in your stack. Start with the question you’re trying to answer, whether it’s why a page is slow, where visitors drop off, or which content attracts the right audience. Then choose the tool that helps you find the answer.

Attentive

Your customers probably don’t want the exact same message as everyone else.

Attentive is a personalized marketing platform for SMS, email, RCS, and push, using customer data to help teams create more relevant messages across channels. You can plan, send, and measure campaigns from one place, with AI built in to help turn customer signals into smarter marketing.

The goal is pretty simple: fewer ā€œDear Customerā€ moments, more messages that actually feel like they were meant for someone.

Don’t miss the latest episode of The Daily Carnage Show to explore AI’s impact on entry-level marketing jobs—and the potential talent pipeline crisis that could follow.

Companies are already hiring fewer junior employees as AI takes over foundational tasks. But those ā€œboringā€ tasks are also where marketers develop judgment, critical thinking, strategic instincts, and creative voice.

So what does an entry-level marketing job look like when AI can handle much of the routine work? And how do we make sure we aren’t optimizing ourselves into a future shortage of experienced marketers?

Shannon breaks down the entry-level talent crisis, the rise of AI-native marketers, the importance of mentorship and apprenticeship, and what young marketers can do to build real expertise in an AI-first world.

Every Four Years

Some memories come around every four years. Some stick around for decades.

Pizza Hut’s Every Four Years follows a father and son through football tournaments from 1994 to today, watching their relationship change alongside the rituals, celebrations, heartbreaks, and watch parties that come with each World Cup.

The clever part is using the tournament as a timeline for their lives. The kid grows up, the years pass, but the tradition stays.

Four years is a long time. Unless you’re measuring it in pizza and football memories.
